The incredible Tzvi Finkel of Beis Lakish is joining us to teach a class on The “Three Oaths”. This is a foundational text for religious Jewish antizionism, that has been a key driver of orthodox opposition to the state since it was first a twinkle in Herzl’s eye. In the text, we see a fiery disagreement between Rav Yehuda and Rav Zeira about whether one is permitted to move to Eretz Yisrael, and if so, in what manner. They’re gonna be experimenting with iterating on the Mishnah Collective style learning that they used for so long in leading that class, and I’m really excited to see what we all do together with this text.
